Kick-off meeting Kemi
The ARINKA project Kick-off meeting was successfully arranged 26 to 27. November 2018 at Lapland University of Applied Sciences (LUAS) in Kemi, Finland.
Meeting delegates came from Kola Science Centre (KSC), Emperor Alexander I St. Petersburg State Transport University (PGUPS), Lapland University of Applied Sciences (LUAS), Luleå University of Technology (LTU), Finnish Transport Agency (FTA) and Lead Partner Northern Research Institute Narvik (Norut Narvik). Railway companies as Trafikverket (Sweden), FTA (Finland and BaneNor (Norway) are also important partners in the ARINKA project.
The ARINKA (Arctic Railway Infrastructure in Kolarctic) project focuses on railway infrastructure, railway operations and maintenance, railway monitoring and sensor technology. The project work to be performed, by the experienced project partners, will utilize elements of cross border collaboration and experience transfer to deliver projects goals as establishing a competence railway network and state of the art ‘best practises and guidelines’ for the railways in the Kolarctic area.
The kick-off meeting was divided into two main sessions. The first session covered project administrative matters. Participants from Kolarctic Managing Authority (MA) attended the meeting. They provided useful information on reporting routines and deadlines.
The second session of the meeting focused on the project work, work packages and activities, project schedule and deliverables.
